Kim and I have attended two fun Opportunity Green events. First, we went to the Architecture and Design museum on Wilshire to attend the 367 event, an after-work gathering for young green-minded professionals. Next we enjoyed the Beauty and Sustainability evening at Lululemon on Beverly Blvd. We learned so much and met some incredible people!

Kim here, our Maria was caught on the streets of LA and is the ~stranger of the day~ at beautifulstranger.tv. Check it out here!
SATURDAY MAY 3rd and May 4th Noon - 8:00 p.m.
Maria here! This weekend I had fun at a Family Affair event at the downtown LA Standard. Family Affair is a Los Angeles based organization which partners with environmental and social organizations to help promote positive change for our planet Earth. Partnering with Cool Green , Family Affair welcomed Marc Barasch, bestselling author and founder of the Green World Campaign and he invited us to green the world right now by planting 10 million trees in Ethiopia!
J Wallace from Ocean Revolution also had an AMAZING message for us. Ocean Revolution is here to inspire a new wave of young leaders, united in their quest for innovative solutions to protect our oceans.
Overall, it was so fun to juxtapose a fun party atmosphere with making a difference!
Go Live Give was written up in an article about Voluntourism on MSNBC.com titled, ” You don’t have to go far to do good.” Click here to read it.
Thanks to Rob Lovitt for writing such an amazing piece!!
We had a very early start to our day today. At 7AM Maria and I had our webcast interview with voluntourism.org, if you have a chance please check it out. David Clemmons did a great job interviewing us and as he promised it was as good as Larry King! I have to say it was nice being the one getting interviewed for a change. As the producer I’m usually the one who has to coordinate all the questions
Also today, Maria and I had a booth at the Yahoo Green Fair. We were able to talk to some Yahoo employees about Go Live Give and our Hawaii episode. Big thanks to Keith and Seth for setting this day up for us!
At the fair we were able to hang out with some people from sustainablela.org. If you have a chance please check out what they are doing for the city of Santa Monica. If you are a business in the area please look into talking to them about making your business more eco-friendly.

Go Live Give, episode 102: Hawaii!
Hi guys!
So I am going to start blogging to give you updates on all GLG news. Maria and I just got back from Hawaii and it was amazing!!! We are two very lucky girls to have gone to such a beautiful place and talk to so many inspiring people. First off I want to thank Stacey Angeles, our camera woman extreme. She flew out there from NYC to film episode two and she did an amazing job capturing Hawaii at it’s best. Also thank you to Brittany at Fresh and Clean Media that got us into the festival, without you none of this would have been possible.
So I am just starting to go through all of our footage and the first segment that I am working on is The Kokua Festival. If you ever have a chance to go to Hawaii and attend this concert please do! The Kokua Festival is sponsored by “The Kokua Foundation which is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawai’i. Their mission is to provide students with exciting and interactive encounters that will enhance their appreciation for and understanding of their environment so that they will be lifelong stewards of the earth,” kokuahawaiifoundation.org.
While attending the festival we got to talk to many local non-profit organizations that are trying to keep Hawaii green as well as larger companies like Patagonia and Simple Shoes that were there to help sponsor the event. The festival’s goal was to produce zero waste, and I have never seen anything like it. No plastic bottles on the ground or trash anywhere and all the cups and plates were biodegradable and produced by styrophobia, styrophobia.com.
We also got to listen to Dave Matthews, Paula Fuga, Mason Jennings, Go Jimmy Go and Jack Johnson perform and talk about how they are striving to be more green. Needless to say, we had a blast! Check out Kokuafestival.com to see how you can attend next years show.
